Q4 2020 U.S. Performance of Top Tabletop Board Games Apps

As the year 2020 came to a close, the tabletop board games category saw significant user engagement on mobile platforms. According to Sensor Tower's data, here's how the top five apps performed in the United States during the fourth quarter.

Yahtzee® with Buddies Dice by Scopely, Inc., showed a steady revenue trend with a peak in the last week of December at over $1.3M. Downloads for the game rose towards the end of the quarter, reaching nearly 54K in the final week. The weekly active users (WAU) fluctuated but ended on a high note with over 660K users in the last week.

Yalla Ludo - Ludo&Domino from Yalla Technology FZ-LLC saw a notable spike in revenue in late November at over $300K, with a general upward trend throughout the quarter. Downloads remained stable with a slight increase to around 23K by the end of December. WAU increased consistently, reaching over 125K in the final week of the quarter.

Backgammon - Lord of the Board by Beach Bum Ltd had a mixed revenue performance with a noticeable peak at $168K in the week of November 23rd. Downloads saw a gradual increase, ending the quarter with over 7.7K in the last week. The WAU also saw an upward trend, finishing at over 65K.

Chess - Play & Learn by Chess.com experienced significant growth in both revenue and downloads, with revenue reaching $220K and downloads at over 176K in the final week of December. The app's WAU saw a steep increase, ending the year with close to 1.3M active users.

Dice With Buddies: Social Game, also by Scopely, Inc., had a consistent revenue trend with a high of over $180K in the last week of December. Downloads and WAU showed slight variations but remained relatively stable, ending the quarter with around 4.8K downloads and over 33K WAU.
